🎸 Why Travel? Music's Biggest Summer Names Are Coming to Westchester
Todd Rundgren at Tarrytown Thursday, Jack White at The Cap Sunday, plus rising country star Kashus Culpepper at The Peak's Beach Sessions
Hello, Westchester!
How is everyone’s summer going so far?
Now that we’re more than a week removed from 4th of July, it feels like we’re getting into more of a summer rhythm between kids camps, holiday trips, and the great recurring events that happen around Westchester, whether it’s Rock the Block in White Plains, 107.1 The Peak’s Beach Sessions (more on that below), Playland’s Friday fireworks, and Sundaes in the Park at Kensico.
Westchester also continues to attract global stars like Jack White, who will come to Port Chester and grace The Capitol Theatre’s stage on Sunday - don’t forget to check out our giveaway for two tickets over on Instagram! - and Melissa Etheridge, who comes to Tarrytown later this summer.
Stay cool this week and enjoy what's ahead!
📍 Around Our County
This morning, we’re here with a friendly reminder that 107.1 The Peak’s Beach Sessions are in full swing and they’ve been fantastic. We’ve been fortunate to get down to a couple of the shows so far this year at Rye Beach but are just back from maybe the best one yet, which featured the up-and-coming band Slap Dragon out of Nashville and budding superstar Kashus Culpepper hailing from Alabama.

We’ve had this Kashus Culpepper date in the calendar since The Peak announced it earlier this summer and he did not disappoint. If you’re unfamiliar with the name, do yourself a favor and check out some of his music, starting with Believe, Man of His Word and Pour Me Out. You’ll be seeing him accepting future CMA Awards, for sure, but his gravelly voice and style span country, soul, blues, folk, and rock. Kashus will be spending some time in the northeast this summer, including a show at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett on August 15th for those of you who brave the Long Island drive during the summer.
As for Slap Dragon, you won’t have to wait nearly as long to check them out! They’re set to play White Plains Rock the Block this Wednesday. During The Peak show they mentioned they were out on their very first tour but you wouldn't have known it - the group was tight. Highly recommended to check them out on Wednesday.
Looking ahead at The Peak sessions, alternative blues band Houndmouth is one we’re really looking forward to. Perfect sound for the beach and they’ll hit the stage on August 3rd. Check out the full Peak Beach Sessions calendar here.

🏡 Where the Heart Is
Incredible homes are listed in Westchester every week. Here’s one that caught our eye
![]() | ![]() |
The Key Details: 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2,585 square feet on 0.45 acres ($557 / square foot)
What We Love About It: School districts don’t get better than this with Greenville and Edgemont schools offering 10/10 experiences for the kids from Kindergarten through 12th grade… and only a 4-5 minute drive to both. 1 Sheridan sits between the Sprain Brook and Bronx River parkways for easy commutes, and just off Central Park Avenue for shopping and dining. The home, itself, is set on a nicely manicured half-acre and move-in ready. A hard to beat combination for one of the most desirable suburbs in Westchester.
