Mr. Bedford's 150 year old home hits the market, Hudson River Music Festival returns
Hello, Westchester!
"The waiting is over! The New York Rangers are the Stanley Cup champions! And this one will last a lifetime!"
So far, the words of former New York Rangers play-by-play announcer Sam Rosen in June, 1994 have proven unfortunately true. The Rangers franchise and fans had suffered through a 54-year Stanley Cup drought when they won back in 1994 and they havenāt won since then⦠32 years and counting for those not looking for morning math equations.
Well, the Knicks just ended a 53-year championship drought of their own⦠hopefully with a quicker return to glory than MSG has seen from their co-tenants⦠but it serves as a reminder to enjoy every minute of what this team has done and the record-setting, never-say-die manner in which they did it. Doesnāt hurt that theyāre actually really likeable and can be seen all over Westchester!
The champs came home from San Antonio with the trophy on Sunday morning and Westchester County Airport welcomed them with open armsā¦

The parade is set for Thursday morning in lower Manhattan and itās sure to be a big one. Sadly, the parade schedule clashes with a few New York State Regents Exams, which the state will not be cancelling, āNew Yorkers are rightfully excited to celebrate the Knicks, but our students have been preparing all year for this moment too. Just like the Knicks, theyāve put in the work and earned their chance to shine.ā Thatās an actual quote from New Yorkās Education Department spokesperson. Kids have off school the next day for Juneteenth, too, which theyāll surely spend reflecting on how they shined during the exams the day prior.
As of writing, this Loving Westchester team plans to be at the parade⦠all of our exams are either completed or years away. If youāre headed down there, drop us a line and let us know! In any case, be safe and enjoy the week around Westchester!

š” Where the Heart Is
Incredible homes are listed in Westchester every week. Hereās one that caught our eye
![]() | ![]() |
The Key Details: 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3,977 square feet on 0.62 acres ($440 / square foot)
What We Love About It: This is the sort of house that weāll see driving around the county, stop to look at and wonder what itās like to live there. Itās 150 years old and rooted in Bedfordās history as the home of John Kinkel, who was known at the time as āMr. Bedfordā (unclear if that title passes to new owners). The home was later owned by best-selling novelist Sloan Wilson and has a separate, sizable artistsā studio for your own creative endeavors. Historical homes like these obviously donāt come around too often and this oneās a beauty just a short walk away from the center of Bedford Village Green.
