💗 Westchester Welcomes A Hollywood Legend!
Movies, Block Parties + Live Music Galore... Plus, We Try a Yonkers Hot Spot

Hello, Westchester!
It was a whimsical weekend as sea creatures could be found across the county and ice creams were enjoyed in the sunshine by the dozen for a holiday no waistline ever needed. We met some mermaids as they made their way from the festival in Sleepy Hollow to Rye for some great music and beach vibes with the debut of the A-Sides Beach Ball at Barley Beach House. We’re unsure if they got there by land or water, but got there they did!
We set up shop on the beach to support A-Sides fest for Loving Westchester’s live event debut and met incredible people, vendors and musicians! In the most generous and supportive fashion, Jon Chattman showcased some great local talent (Summer Fling, The Summer Project and many others), lyricists (talkin’ about you Kevin Devine and Lauren West) and NY hitmakers (great meeting you, Nine Days!) for an incredibly positive evening as the sun set across the waves.
At the core of it, the event was what Loving Westchester is all about - good times, good vibes, supporting local, and family fun! Good thing, too, as without a babysitter our whole clan was present! It was great meeting some of our readers, and it also meant we expanded our LW crew - so, welcome, new friends!
Today we’ve a host of things going on for your weekday enjoyment. We’ll be back on Friday to help fill your weekend!
Until then, don’t forget the sunscreen!

🍕 Eats-chester
Social has been buzzing about this week’s featured restaurant, so we took the clan to Yonkers to see what the hype was all about. La Lanterna bills itself as fine dining Italian with a Swiss twist — usually spotted online alongside glam cocktails, patio selfies, and sleek groups of friends. But how would it hold up for a family dinner?
Coming in pre-dinner rush, fresh off a two-hour drive back from Long Island with a car-sick son complete with swimmer’s ear, and a very hungry baby girl keen to get out of her stroller, we could have done with a warmer welcome… but we were on a mission to try the OG Whipped Sicilian Sizzler pizza… and nothing was stopping us. Once seated, the staff were warm and attentive, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting for all ages, and the menu was full of highly shareable dishes.
The pizza delivered, the pinwheel lasagna was rich and saucy, and yes — whipped ricotta folded into crispy, fluffy fresh bread with roasted garlic and Mutti tomato marinara is just as dreamy as it sounds. Come hungry and leave room for the Toasted Smores Brownie Sundae if they have it… it was ‘for our son’ I swear!
