🎸 The Next Noah Kahan? The Peak's Beach Sessions Return Tonight

Jason Mraz brings Hall of Fame songwriting chops to The Cap, Walter's kicks off its concert series & the Righteous Brothers bid farewell

Hello, Westchester!

Do we get a rain check on Memorial Day Weekend? When can we cash that in?

Hopefully you were able to find some fun during the long weekend either indoors or between the showers. We used the raw Saturday weather as our excuse to take a day trip to a corner of Brooklyn that we’ve never been to, Sunset Park, specifically Japan Village in Industry City. It was a bit of a trek (around 1h15m from Rye) but it was perfect for a rainy day and if you’re into Japanese food and culture, it’s a must. We’ll be writing about our experience there in more detail soon, but here are a few pics to set the mood…

Shifting focus to things closer to home… 107.1 The Peak is doing its part to reignite Westchester’s summer vibes this week with the start of their Beach Sessions at The Barley Beach House in Rye. Flashback to September 2022, The Peak introduced a relatively unknown Noah Kahan to Westchester when he took to the beach deck in Rye… a few Grammy nominations and stadium sellouts later, here we are.

That’s all to say… take the summer session schedule seriously. You never know who you’ll be catching on the beach (we see you on that list, Kashus Culpepper).

Knowing you witnessed a superstar before the world knew they were one can be a lot of fun and make for a great story. For those of you who’d rather skip the wait and jump right to current day stars, Westchester has you covered this week… Jason Mraz plays The Cap on Friday, while Glee / Broadway star Darren Criss and The Righteous Brothers both play Peekskill’s Paramount.

Great kids events, comedy, and artist & writer Q&As round out a weekly calendar that hopefully lifts spirits back up after last weekend’s washout. Enjoy it and if you see us at tonight’s beach session in Rye, say hello!

🏡 Where the Heart Is

Incredible homes are listed in Westchester every week. Here’s one that caught our eye

77 Edgemont Road is a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 2,028 square foot Tudor from 1927 on an 8,712 square foot lot in the Old Edgemont neighborhood. This is the kind of home that makes a strong first impression and keeps delivering once you're inside. The architecture has that classic Tudor character you'd expect from this era, and the interior has been tastefully updated without losing any of the original charm. The main level has a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a sun-drenched sunroom that works well as a home office, and an updated kitchen with granite and stone countertops. Upstairs, the primary bedroom has its own en-suite bath, and there are three more bedrooms plus a second full bathroom. The lower level adds extra flex space beyond the listed square footage, which is always a welcome bonus. Outside, a private patio makes for a nice spot to entertain or just wind down. The home also has central air and hardwood floors throughout.

Just 0.4 miles to Scarsdale Metro-North (about 33 minutes to Grand Central). Close to Il Sorrento, Sapori, and One Rare Steakhouse. Seely Place School and Edgemont Junior Senior High School (both rated 10/10) nearby.
