🍕 The Dish We Raved About Months Ago Is on This Year’s Restaurant Week Menu
Plus the final weekend of The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, the Sleepy Hollow Street Fair returns, and an 1897 Hastings Victorian under $1.5m
Hello, Westchester!
Westchester was just a few days late in getting the spookiest Halloween costume idea of the season… a faulty voting machine. Tuesday’s Election Day delivered its own real-life horror stories, with countywide ballot issues making Westchester a national election night headline. Hope your trip to the polls was as painless as possible, but if not, we want to hear about it. Any horror stories at your polling place, and how was it handled near you?
Fast-forward a few days and a sunny weekend plus a packed calendar of events are ready to wipe away any mid-week frustration. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze says its final goodbye before going dark ‘til next fall. Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is also in full swing, and if the recommendations we dropped earlier in the week have you hungry for more, add La Lanterna in Yonkers to the list. Their Stuffed Sicilian is insanely good and is sitting there waiting for you on this year’s prix-fixe menu.
Any new spots you’re looking forward to trying?
See you out there!

🏡 Where the Heart Is
Incredible homes are listed in Westchester every week. Here’s one that caught our eye
![]() | ![]() |
The Key Details: 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, 3,560 square feet on a 10,014-square-foot lot ($414 / square foot)
What We Love About It: An 1897 Victorian with a deep wraparound porch built for rocking chairs, 10-foot ceilings, and original oak parquet floors. The eat-in kitchen has six casement windows overlooking the gardens, and up top is a skylit third-floor space with heart pine floors and treetop views. The standout is the attached one-bedroom apartment with its own street-front entrance, which works for extended family, guests, a home office, or rental income. There’s also a two-car attached garage and a level, secluded backyard, with Hastings’ village shops and restaurants, Zinsser Park, and Reynolds Field all within two blocks.
