šŸ’— Rock Royalty Headlines Foodie Weekend in Westchester

If "well rounded" was a weekend, this would be it.

Happy Friday Westchester!

It doesn’t feel much like August this week, but we’re pretty set on making sure we get our summer fill before it’s time to pop on some sweaters and pop in some pumpkin spice. Whether we admit it or not, most of us love a little cider donut with whatever nut latte is going. But if you, like us, are still planning your next beach day, while procrastinating on all the school organization stuff, we have some more distractions for you this weekend.

Here’s to some better weather starting today, fingers crossed!

Let’s get after it!

The installation runs through August 29.

šŸ” Eats-chester

Pleasantville has a lot to offer with its food scene these days, and we’re making our way through some we’ve had on the list. Fairly new to the block is Lulu’s Kitchenette, a modern, fast-fine eatery that states its mission is to provide a fun, healthy eating experience using high-quality local sourced ingredients, and from our experience they’ve hit the nail on the head. We got a bit of everything on the menu and, as it isn’t really a dine-in vibe, we would suggest perhaps pairing it with a pint at Soul Brewing and hitting up their outdoor picnic tables to indulge.

We can honestly say it was hard to pick our favorites. Their Mac & Cheese Eggrolls with Truffle Aioli were an all-round hit. I always think fried mac anything can be a bit of a miss because it seems impossible that it comes out the other side still saucy, but it really is true… nothing is impossible because Lulu’s has done it. Delicious, crispy, saucy and soft all at the same time, and the aioli… definitely worth writing about. The smash burger was up there for our top smashes, their Chicken Caesar Naan was light, delicate and perfectly balanced, their Ding Ding Chicken Bowl had a beautiful array of fresh Asian ingredients alongside the juiciest of chicken, and their special Meatball Sub just melted in your mouth. Even the fries were good! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the menu has something for everyone. Go, but expect to either eat outside in a very limited seating area or take it away - ideally somewhere where no one can see you lick the bottom of the container.

Oh, and do yourself a favor, don’t sleep on the desserts. The cake doughnut was one of the best we’ve had and the cookie… well, it cookies its little heart out.
