Hello, Westchester!

 

It’s supposed to be a mixed bag on the weather front but we’ve got plenty to make you forget about it over the next three days. This edition is stacked!

 

There’s a little bit of everything… from celebrations for book lovers to wing lovers, two 10-year anniversaries to join in, and a weekend that leans fully into spring with markets, music, and plenty for the whole family.

 

If you get to the end, we have a very full Eats-chester, with everything from a brand new Larchmont opening to some collaborations we’re still trying to wrap our heads around (in the best way) and an exclusive you won’t want to miss!

Hops on the Hudson is bringing its Modern Makers Market to the Hudson riverfront at the Factoria at Charles Point Marina in Peekskill… the perfect opportunity to shop for Mom or bring her along to browse the handcrafted displays for a Mother’s Day shopping experience.

 

Modern Makers Market will host 40+ artisans including jewelers, clothing designers, bag makers, candle makers, potters, ceramic artists, painters, and so many more. Live music entertainment will come courtesy of Andrew Jordan and Christine Chanel with great beer and food at The River Outpost Brewery (onsite). Don’t forget those picturesque river views shooting up the Hudson towards the Appalachian Trail’s Bear Mountain Bridge!

 

 

🌭 Eats-chester

 

This week we’re bringing you a great new staple, some very unexpected collaborations, a little something we got to hear early… and, quite literally, a place where it might rain candy.

 

First up, Millie’s Provisions has officially opened in Larchmont, and we stopped by on opening day. It was (unsurprisingly) busy… but in that good, chaotic way that usually means you’ve found a spot that’s going to stick.

 

We worked our way through a good portion of the lunch menu and will definitely be back for breakfast. Great coffee, really good baked goods, and a genuinely easy spot to take the family… we pulled together a quick reel on Instagram if you want a closer look and more details.

 

Expect more there this weekend as tonight we’ll be heading to what’s being billed as the “Best Night Ever” in Port Chester. With live music, Bona Bona ice cream, and Walter’s hot dogs involved… we’re thinking it lives up to its name! We’ll report back! Now, there are two things in particular we can’t wait to see and try:

 

First… the Walter’s x Bona Bona hot dog collab. Yes, that toasted, s’mores-style marshmallow Bona Bona is known for has somehow made its way onto something far hotter and saltier than it’s used to… and apparently, it just works. We’re as curious as you are.

And on sprinkles… the forecast says there’s going to be a surprise shower. Bona Bona apparently has a room for this, which after some hot dogs covered in s’mores feels like something straight out of a Fear and Loathing-esque sequence. Why not grab a ticket and see for yourself! We’d love to see you there!

 

Finally, while we’re on collaborations you didn’t realize you needed in your life, we wanted to give you a heads up on one coming next week… Walter’s is celebrating 10 years of collaborating with Hoodoo Brown BBQ and they gave us the ‘scoop’ on what to expect from their pop up on May 3 in Mamaroneck from 12–4p (or until sell-out):

 

🌭 Three specialty dogs (plus a surprise):

  • Walter Brown: brisket, slaw, BBQ sauce

  • Dogzilla: pork belly, Hoodoo Voodoo sauce

  • French Poodle: prime rib, horseradish, au jus

 

We made you hungry, didn’t we? You just know Westchester’s having a bit of a creative foodie moment when not even an emoji can quite sum it up. We love to see it… and we’ll see you in line. Now, what could that surprise be?!
