šµ Pleasantville Music Festival Turns 20, and "The Treadmill Guys" Are Headlining
A Chappaqua Tudor under $800K & a World Cup weekend party in White Plains
Hello, Westchester!
We hope everyone had a great Independence Day weekend, made it through the storms, and got to enjoy some of the fireworks and festivities you'd been looking forward to.
Around 8:30p on Saturday, just as fireworks displays across the county were meant to kick off, the storm rolled in fast and cancelled shows. We waited out the storm with some good friends and then spent the next hour circling our town looking for an unblocked route home between downed trees and wires. Not the Fourth we planned, but nature did offer a substitute light show over the Long Island Sound that was honestly hard to beatā¦

Just up the river in Kingston, Rolling Stoneās Stateside Music Festival featuring Noah Kahan was also underway and, we're hearing, ran into some serious logistical headaches. Shuttle buses got stranded during a āshelter in placeā trying to get fans to the festival while the show was going on, and VIP holders reportedly got swarmed by general admission crowds due to a lack of security. All of that and tickets were not cheap. Were you there? We'd love to hear your take. Reply and let us know.
Before we get to the week ahead, our first Ardsley Car Wash giveaway wraps up tomorrow, when we'll draw a winner for the summer prize package (a three-month Ardsley membership, Pleasantville Music Festival tickets, a Good Witch Coffee gift card, and Rivertown SUP & Yoga passes). Head over to our Instagram to enter before Wednesday night. And if you don't take this one down, keep your eyes peeled here and on Instagram⦠we've got another giveaway lined up for arguably the summer's biggest rock show, when Jack White hits The Cap in a couple of weeks.
Otherwise, it's another full week of events around the county, a few strong World Cup watch options as the knockout rounds heat up, and New York's Backyard Jam takes the stage this Saturday when Pleasantville Music Festival hits Parkway Field for its 20th year.
Let's get to it!
š Around Our County
The year is 2005ā¦
A video sharing platform called YouTube has just opened its internet doors and the Los Angeles-based rock band OK Go just shot a music video for their song āHere It Goes Againā. The simple video features the four members of the band in an expertly choreographed dance routine across eight moving treadmills and cost a whopping $5 to make. Itās eventually released into the world in 2006 and a perfect fit for YouTube, becoming one of the earliest viral videos on the platform and amassing 69 million views in the first few months.
2005 also gave birth to a local summer fixture, the Pleasantville Music Festival. āNew Yorkās Backyard Jamā on Parkway Field started as more of a grassroots folk festival, headed by Pleasantvilleās then Mayor, Bernie Gordon, and friend Jim Zimmerman, hosting a few hundred attendees in its first year. Now in its 20th year, PMF has hosted globally touring headliners such as: The Revivalists, Dawes, Blues Traveler, Living Colour, Joan Osborne, Soul Asylum, and so many more, with annual guests now in the thousands.
![]() Then⦠| ![]() ⦠and now. |
Add OK Go to that list of PMF headliners, playing this Saturday. Twenty years later, they're both still going. We're sure OK Goās production budget has grown from that original $5, but if you see treadmills rolling onto the stage, you know who's up next. Tickets here.
