🎈 One Year of Loving Westchester, Our June Celebrations Begin Today
Gary Clark Jr. tickets, Ardsley Car Wash giveaways, and a summer Saturday that might be the best one yet
Happy National Donut Day, Westchester!
Consider this your sign to indulge ahead of what we hope will be another memorable Knicks night. Game 2 tips off at 8:30pm and, like much of Westchester, we'll be watching with fingers and toes firmly crossed. When it comes to donuts, this household is huge on Duck Donuts and they come ‘Beckett Approved’ (evidence below)…

As Loving Westchester edges closer to its first birthday, we've been thinking a lot about what this little corner of the internet has become. What started as a way to share things we thought people might enjoy has grown into something much bigger thanks to all of you. We have so many plans for the year ahead and are working hard to bring you even more experiences, value and local discoveries. Ultimately, we want this to be a place where all of us can find joy.
One thing we hear time and time again is: "How do I tell people about my event, gig, fundraiser, class, new menu or market?" Starting today, we've made room for exactly that. You'll find a new Community Spotlight section below where readers can share what's happening in their corner of Westchester.
We also want Loving Westchester to remain free and accessible to everyone. We turn down far more than we feature because if we don't think something will genuinely interest our readers, or we can't stand behind it ourselves, it doesn't make the cut. We spend a lot of time exploring, researching and pulling everything together so you don't have to.
That brings us to a huge thank you. Thank you to everyone who has supported us through the ‘Support’ button, and to those who take the time to send a note, share feedback or tell us how the newsletter has helped you. Those messages genuinely mean the world to us and make all the late nights worthwhile.
Now for some fun. Next Friday we're heading to see Gary Clark Jr. at The Capitol Theatre. We've seen him once before in Dublin and have been waiting years to experience that talent again. We want two of you to join us, so we're giving away a pair of tickets. Keep an eye on Instagram around 10am today for details on how to enter.
Right, that's quite enough from us. Go enjoy that donut, enjoy the weekend, and Go Knicks!

🍹 Eats-chester
Tiki Beach Pier Restaurant | 1 Playland Parkway, Rye
There are places you go when you want to feel a little like you're on vacation, even though you're only a few miles from home. Tiki Beach Pier Restaurant is exactly that.
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Perched along the Playland boardwalk, it's an easy spot to settle in with a mojito (which we highly recommend), share a few plates, catch some live music and watch the boats drift by. On summer weekends, it's not unusual to see boats anchored offshore while Tiki's shuttle boat zips out to ferry guests back to shore.
On a recent visit, the lobster roll was the standout. Generous, buttery and packed with lobster. We'd also happily order the Dragon Coaster Roll again, while the watermelon salad remains one of our favorite warm-weather picks. If you're after something heartier, there's plenty to choose from too, including burgers, ribs and steak.
Whether you're stopping by after a day at Playland, meeting friends for sunset drinks, or sneaking away for a cheeky afternoon cocktail while the kids are otherwise occupied, Tiki has a habit of turning one drink into two and an afternoon into an evening.
For us, it's one of those places that reminds you summer in Westchester can feel a lot like getting away without actually going anywhere.
