đ˝ Shrek's 25th Birthday Party at Alamo & A Craft Beer Bash on the Sound
Carnival season begins and PeleĚ's former team comes to Westchester
Hello, Westchester!
How was your weekend? Ours was spent across approximately one hundred different sports venues, mostly thanks to our son Kai, who also turned nine on Sunday! Somehow, we still managed to make it out to a few local events.
We caught Ben Stillerâs moving documentary screening about his parents, followed by a Q&A with Stiller himself at the Irvington Theater. It was funny, moving, beautifully shot, and one of those evenings that stays with you afterward. We even managed to grab a drink after and make the most of having the grandparents over (thanks guys!). We love Irvington, itâs such a special little town.
We also made it to our first-ever pro frisbee game in New Rochelle. Huge congratulations to NY Gridlock on a big win over the Milwaukee Monarchs. We came away seriously impressed by the athleticism, atmosphere, and just how fun it was to watch live. Theyâre back home again this Sunday and weâll have another special Loving Westchester offer in Fridayâs edition if youâre thinking of checking them out too.
This weekâs edition has a little bit of everything: soccer rivalries with PelĂŠ-era history, waterfront beer festivals, smoky whiskey tastings inside an Airstream, carnivals, comedy nights, meditation in the fields, and a free mac & cheese pop-up. Basically the kind of information a good friend texts you so you donât miss out.
And before we go⌠a quick nod to one of our favorite local spots, Dukeâs Ramen, who have just released their latest â100 Bowls for Goodâ charity initiative. This time around theyâre serving up a pulled pork pernil ramen bowl with part of the proceeds supporting local organizations doing important work in the community.
Also, respectfully⌠the bowl looks ridiculous. Check it out here.
Ok, now weâre hungry. Letâs get into it.

đĄ Where the Heart Is
Incredible homes are listed in Westchester every week. Hereâs one that caught our eye

10 River Road is a 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 3,307 square foot Tudor-style home from 1926 on an 8,712 square foot lot in the Greenacres neighborhood. This home has been thoughtfully updated with brand-new windows, fresh paint throughout, and refinished hardwood floors. The main level features a spacious living room with a classic wood-burning fireplace and a sun-filled sunroom with custom built-ins and French doors opening to a large patio. The formal dining room works well for both everyday meals and entertaining. The open eat-in kitchen has updated appliances and sliding glass doors to the terrace. Off the kitchen you'll find a cozy family room, powder room, secondary back staircase, and direct access to the attached one-car garage. Upstairs, the primary bedroom has an en suite bath, and there are three additional bedrooms plus a full hall bath. The third floor offers a fifth bedroom that could work as an office, guest suite, or playroom.
Walking distance to Scarsdale Metro-North (about 33 minutes to Grand Central). Close to Il Sorrento, Sapori, and One Rare Steakhouse. Greenacres School (rated 10/10) nearby.
