🌸 Lyndhurst Mansion's Flower House Opens This Weekend

Plus, King Kone opens for the season and Micky Dolenz brings the '60s

Happy Friday, Westchester!

Well… that escalated quickly.

One minute we’re in jackets, the next it’s 80 degrees, flowers everywhere, birds going full soundtrack mode, and every field in Westchester suddenly booked solid.

We’ve been leaning into it this week, getting out to a few openings and events… a strong reminder of how quickly everything ramps up when the weather turns. It’s been a busy one… a Westchester SC vs NYCFC matchup, a slightly unexpected moment with one of our favorite authors, Colm Tóibín at Chappaqua Performing Arts Center (what a building, by the way), and the return of a local staple… more on that below.

It really feels like the season has properly kicked off, and this weekend follows suit. A few Earth Day bits woven in (the good kind… where the kids come home with something heartfelt you commit to displaying… until it quietly disappears one day), some genuinely great foodie and drink-worthy options not far from our borders, comedy on our doorstep, and plenty in between.

Whether you’re rolling deep with the crew, or managing a rare escape… there’s a lot to get into. So, without any further ado…

Get stuck in, and then get out!

🍦 Eats-chester

A Westchester summer staple opens for the season…

King Kone | 109 Route 100 | Katonah

Summer, is that you?

Between this week’s 80 degree weather, baseball games, and King Kone opening for the season - slinging its classic soft serve, dozens of hard ice cream flavors, and comfort food - it certainly feels like summer.

After Kai’s little league game we took the easy drive north up 684, arriving to a queue stretched down the sidewalk drawn to the red neon light like moths to a flame. Too dramatic? Nope. Not when you get that hit of ice cream during a warm night… and the queue’s pretty quick, anyway.

It was our first of many trips to come in this new season. Our lineup:

🍦 Vanilla soft serve | Peanut Butter Cookies & Cream | Holy Cannoli | Queen of Hearts

🍔 Cheeseburger | Pizza Burger | BBQ Onion Burger | Mac & Cheese Bites

Everything hit the spot. Get up north and get in line. Open 12-9p daily.
