💗 Loving Westchester's Weekday Warm-Up: Dancing with the Stars & Dropkick Murphys
Plus, we recap the Super Bowl and the Olympics while the circus rolls into town
Hello, Westchester!
The Super Bowl is in the books, and it turns out our readers know their football. More than two-thirds of you were pulling for a Seahawks win, and Seattle delivered exactly that, smothering the Patriots 29-13 behind a defensive performance that gave former Jets quarterback Sam Darnold his first Super Bowl ring. As for the halftime show, which topped our poll as the most anticipated part of the night, Bad Bunny brought out surprise guests Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin to close out what turned into a pretty memorable Sunday.
While we’re celebrating wins, our Olympians with Westchester ties are making us proud over in Italy. Starting goaltender Aerin Frankel and the US Women's Ice Hockey team continue to roll through group play undefeated, and the US men's curling team, captained by Danny Casper, begins their Olympic journey this Wednesday at 1p. Best of luck to them and to Olivia Giaccio as the games continue.
Closer to home, we're finally breaking out of the deep freeze. Wednesday's forecast is calling for a downright tropical 38 degrees, which should at least make a dent in some of these snow piles we've been living with. Good timing, too, with Valentine's Day landing this weekend. If you still need cards, now's the time before the good ones are completely picked over.
In the spirit of sharing the love, two local charities are opening their doors this week to show the community how they make a difference:
Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley: Hot Chocolate Open House | Thu., Feb. 12 | 832 South Broadway, Tarrytown | 3-7p
Ronald McDonald House Greater Hudson Valley | Thu., Feb. 12 | 80 Woods Rd, Valhalla | 12-6p
There's plenty happening around the county to keep your week interesting. Dancing with the Stars brings the glitz to White Plains, Gary Gulman takes the Tarrytown Music Hall stage, and there are Valentine-themed events for families, candle-making workshops, bonsai classes, and a whole lot more. Keep reading for all the details.
Enjoy your week, everyone!

🏡 Where the Heart Is
Incredible homes are listed in Westchester every week. Here’s one that caught our eye…
Listed by Howard Hanna Rand Realty

122 Greenacres Avenue is a 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 2,112 square foot colonial from 1923 in White Plains' Fisher Hill neighborhood. The home has beautiful period details including classic moldings, built-ins, and hardwood floors throughout. Natural light fills every room. There's a living room with wood-burning fireplace, a sunroom perfect for relaxing, and a formal dining room. The modern kitchen features custom cabinetry, granite counters, stainless appliances, and a butler's prep area. Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms plus a primary suite with renovated bathroom and exercise room or walk-in closet. A second-floor laundry room is a rare bonus for a 1920s home. The lower level offers storage and flexible space for an office or playroom with garage access. The fenced backyard is nicely landscaped and ideal for pets.
One mile to White Plains or Hartsdale Metro-North (approximately 35 minutes to Grand Central). Close to downtown restaurants including Lilly's, TVB by Pax Romana, and KEE Oyster House.
