💗 Loving Westchester's Weekday Rundown: A Nod to Our Local Champs

Plus, Westchester's biggest venues are bringing entertaining acts all week long

Welcome back, Westchester!

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, great company and plenty of moments to be grateful for. Whether you spent the holiday with family, friends, or enjoyed some quiet time, we'd love to hear how your Thanksgiving went. Feel free to reply and share your favorite moment from the day, good or bad!

One old Thanksgiving season tradition of mine (this is Wes, hi!) was the possibility that our high school football team would be pushing deep enough into the playoffs that we might still be practicing and playing as the days grew shorter and colder. It would mean trips to the Suffolk County and Long Island Championships which, unfortunately, never came to be. The same, however, can’t be said for four of Westchester’s high school football teams whose seasons continue into December on the road to New York State Championship games this Friday and Saturday in Syracuse:

  • Fri., Dec 5 | 3p | Tuckahoe Tigers take on Tioga (Tioga County) in the Class D final

  • Fri., Dec 5 | 6p | Rye Garnets play Brighton (Monroe County) in the Class A final

  • Sat., Dec 6 | 12p | Bronxville Broncos face Chenango Forks (Broome County) in the Class C final

  • Sat., Dec 6 | 3p | Sleepy Hollow Horsemen square off with Monroe (Monroe County) in the Class B final

There are five football state finals and Westchester, incredibly, has a representative in four of them. Good luck to all of the teams this week and congratulations to Westchester’s other fall season New York State Champs whose seasons ended earlier this year!:

  • Girls Soccer: Rye (Class A)

  • Boys Soccer: North Salem (Class C)

  • Girls Tennis: Horace Greeley, Michelle Rosenblit & Daniella Rosenblit (Doubles)

  • Girls Cross Country: John Jay Cross River (Class B Team), Sloan Wasserman (Class B Individual), Bronxville (Class C Team), Mia Horgan (Class C Individual)

  • Game Day Cheerleading: Eastchester (Class B)

Now, as we move into December and the holiday season shifts into full gear, we're excited to share what's happening around our community. Westchester’s theaters have come to life, with all of them giving you a few reasons to get out of the house and brave the cold this week. Or… you could leave the house but not even leave the car with a drive around Valhalla’s Winter Wonderland! The choice is yours. Enjoy!

🎄 New York City lights up this week

🏡 Where the Heart Is

Incredible homes are listed in Westchester every week. Here’s one that caught our eye…

Listed by Houlihan Lawrence Inc.

294 Sterling Road is a stunning 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom, 6,807 square foot home in Harrison's Sterling Ridge neighborhood. Built in 1935, the home blends original character with modern updates: a great room with soaring wood cathedral ceiling and gas fireplace, a library with wood-burning fireplace, a chef's kitchen with high-end appliances, and a luxurious primary suite with separate dressing room and spa bath. The front staircase features dramatic lead glass windows, and the lower level offers a bar area and family room ready for entertaining.

The home is just a 5-minute drive to Harrison's Metro-North Station (41 minutes to Grand Central), 6 minutes to a pre-train pick-me-up at Laughing Horse Tea & Coffee and 7 minutes to downtown Rye’s dining scene. Classic Westchester.
