đ Loving Westchester's Thanksgiving Thrills: Last Waltz & A Turkey Trot
Plus, enchantment begins at Kensico Dam & stars are aligning at The Cap

Thank you, Westchester!
Thank you for welcoming us into your world a couple of times each week and allowing us to sneak in a bit of our personality and our story while we share whatâs going on around the county. We werenât born and raised in Westchester⌠weâre a mix of Emerald Isle and Long Isle⌠well, Island, but weâve been calling it home for the past few years and with the relationships weâve made since starting Loving Westchester itâs never felt more like home for us.
All over the county, youâll find great people doing really cool things for others to enjoy⌠like Dennis at Dog Den (White Plains), Mike & Ali at Laughing Horse (Harrison), Gene at Dukeâs Ramen (Mamaroneck), Katherine at Wainwright House (Rye) and Jon Chattman at everything but mainly A-Sides & Westchester Parks Foundation. The list could go on and on. Itâs folks like them who make Westchester such an enjoyable and interesting place to live.
If youâre staying local for the Thanksgiving holiday, there are some great events going on that weâve mentioned below. If venturing further, safe travels. Either way, we hope you get to enjoy the downtime with family and friends and weâll catch you on Friday.

đŚ Making sure no one goes hungry this week
The holidays can be wonderful, but theyâre also a tough stretch for many in Westchester â families facing food insecurity, seniors spending the day alone, and neighbors quietly navigating hardship. Here are places offering support this Thanksgiving, along with simple ways to help if youâre able:
𧥠Lifting Up Westchester â Open Thanksgiving Meal (White Plains)
Graceâs Kitchen welcomes anyone who is unhoused, food-insecure, or simply without company this year. Doors open at 9.30a, with live music as guests arrive. Seating begins around 11a, and the meal wraps by mid-afternoon. Itâs warm, dignified, and community-driven. Volunteer slots are full, but sharing this helps!
đ Free Thanksgiving Meal â Chef Bonnie Saran (Mount Kisco)
Chef Bonnie Saran is keeping her 14-year tradition alive with a free Thanksgiving meal on the day itself from 11.15a-2.15p in Little Crepe Street for anyone who is alone and without one this year. Thereâs buffet seating, extra to-go meals, and overflow seating next door.
â¤ď¸ Rye Holiday Gift Card Support
At least 75 Rye City families rely on school lunches â and when schoolâs out, that support disappears. Rye is raising funds to give each family a $100 Stop & Shop gift card for food during the break. Every donation goes directly to a local family.
đ Feeding Westchester â How to Help
Feeding Westchester supports thousands of families year-round and is distributing hundreds of turkeys this week. There are many ways to get involved such as donating (every $1 helps provide up to three meals), volunteering, or hosting a simple food drive at home, work, or school.
If you need support this Thanksgiving, these community spaces are here for you. If youâre able to help, even small acts go far during the holidays.
đĄ Where the Heart Is
Incredible homes are listed in Westchester every week. Hereâs one that caught our eyeâŚ
Listed by Julia B Fee Sothebys

A few weeks back we found ourselves in Irvington down near the river. Pretty sure it was post-travel soccer earlier that morning in Sleepy Hollow. Donât ask the score. Please. Anyway, we decided to check out Matthiessen Park and, on our way down there, noticed a private access road just before we got to the park entrance. âWhat goes on up there?â we wondered. Well, we found out this weekâŚ
43 Matthiessen Park North is a 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom, 5,156 square foot contemporary home in Irvington's riverside Matthiessen Park community. The light-filled interior opens up to panoramic water views that stretch from the bridge to the cliffs across the river, with high ceilings throughout and a primary bedroom that takes full advantage of the view. The property sits on over an acre with layered gardens and walkways that wind down to a covered seating area where you can watch the river roll by.
The home is just a 5-minute drive to Irvington's Metro-North Station (40 minutes to Grand Central) and 4 minutes to Red Hat on the Riverâs riverside patio and 5 minutes to Uncle Lefty's in Hastings for neighborhood vibes and live music. Hudson life, perfected.
