💗 Loving Westchester's Blizzard Edition: Oscar Nominees, Matthew Morrison & K-Pop Karaoke
Plus, Bingo Unleashed, The Stinky Cheese Man, and the Mother of Mixers
Hello, Westchester!
He warned you…

Halfway through Phil’s ominous extended winter forecast, Westchester is digging out again. The National Weather Service has all reported areas in the county landing between 1-2 feet of snow with blizzard conditions shutting down roads and schools on Monday. Not ideal as we head toward March and spring can't come soon enough. We will get some sun and above-freezing temperatures later this week, so hopefully this snowfall doesn’t stick around as long as the last one did.
Across the pond, the Winter Olympics have finally come to an end which brought a ton of memorable moments and even a bit of gold for local hero, Aerin Frankel. Now we try to find something to fill that curling-shaped hole in our mornings. On the bright side, our floors have never been cleaner.
Speaking of upgrades around the house, we’re delighted to introduce our new Loving Westchester partner, One Day Doors & Closets of New York. With the snow and freezing cold these past few weeks, we’ve all been spending a lot of time inside… if you’ve recently closed a door to block out the noise of your kids and thought “we really should get these doors updated” - this might be your moment!
This week brings an eclectic mix of events across the county. An Oscar-nominated film screens at Jacob Burns with a Q&A from director Clint Bentley and cinematographer Adolpho Veloso, Glee's Matthew Morrison brings his one-man show to Peekskill, and The Stinky Cheese Man reimagines fairy tales for kids in Mamaroneck. For something different, there's K-pop karaoke in Scarsdale, a free concert from the 200-year-old West Point Band, a mom's dance party at Garcia's, and a Community Spelling Bee fundraiser in Irvington. Plus, comedy nights, Mahjong open play, and the Westchester Knicks taking on the Capital City Go-Go.
Good luck digging out this week! Remember that shoveling snow is not “good cardio” and can cause some serious health issues… so be sure to ask for help where needed! Catch you all Friday.
