💗 Loving Westchester Gets Out Before Getting Snowed In!

The event calendar is packed for Friday & Saturday's cold calm before the storm with a few still hanging on for Sunday...

Hello, Westchester!

We've made it to Friday and we’re sure you’ve all heard about the snowstorm heading our way this weekend. As of writing, the forecast has Westchester straddling that 6-12” and 12”+ band, which is more than enough to take it seriously.

Source: ABC7 NY (as of Thu. afternoon)

We’ve already seen some events cancelled or postponed all around us (Rockland’s Knickerbocker Ice Festival, Stamford’s Fire & Ice Winter Festival, and some local comedy shows). Because of this, we've tried to focus on events happening earlier in the weekend, giving you Friday and Saturday to get out before the snow arrives. That said, weather can shift quickly, so please double check with venues before heading out to confirm events are still on. As always, we'll do our best to post any cancellations we hear about on our Instagram page.

Before we get to what's happening, a few quick reminders to help you prepare:

  • Keep enough supplies on hand to eliminate unnecessary trips out if roads are dangerous (food, water, medications, batteries)

  • Make sure electronic devices are charged

  • Check that home heating supplies are sufficient (firewood, fuel, etc.)

  • Keep warm clothes and something to keep yourself entertained close by in case of a power outage!

A few emergency numbers to keep in mind:

  • Westchester County Emergency: 911

  • Non-emergency police: 914-864-7700

  • Con Edison (power outages): 1-800-752-6633

  • County Department of Emergency Services: 914-231-1850

Need help digging out? Our autumn outdoor specialists, Fallscapers, will be out and about across Westchester this weekend providing snow removal services. To get on their schedule, drop them a line here.

Now, let's talk about the good stuff happening before the snow flies.
