Carnival nights, charity vibes, and fun ways to beat the heat across Westchester

Hi Friends!
Welcome to your first Tuesday edition. And to our newcomers, thank you for joining our growing community.
Weād love to hear what you got up to this past weekend. With sports season winding down for our son, we were free to hit the road for a super day at the Hudson Valley Food Truck Festival at Barton Orchards. The cherry cider was a highlight, and Thailicious and The Steak Truck seriously delivered. Weāve already promised our son weāll go back⦠thereās a lot to enjoy there. We topped off the day with our first visit to King Kone (EPIC!) and took the scenic route home.
We also stopped by SPCA Westchester and Destination Scarsdaleās Puppy Paw-looza. Not sure what was more adorable... the pups up for adoption or the ones who came out to see them, and by the end, everyone went home with a loving family. It was handily located beside the Scarsdale Farmers Market, so we browsed the stalls before grabbing lunch at the newly opened Press. Their smash burger and vodka chicken burrata pesto deliciousness (āThe Tony Pecā) were absolute standouts.
This week is looking hot to start, with some mixed weather later on (but honestly, who knows anymore). Thankfully, Westchester County understood the assignment and opened many of its pools early, so no need to wait for the weekend. We made a quick-save beach and pool schedule below that you can stash on your phone.
With school winding down, the summer energy is very real. Our son asked me last night if I have to work during the summer holidays, and I found myself seriously questioning my life choices.
Thereās plenty happening this week, from sweet family events to grown-up fun.
Enjoy every bit of it,
Bec & Wes
PS: Feel free to send us pics if you make it to any of the events or try any of our recommendations - we love seeing what youāre up to.

š EATS-CHESTER
If youāre heading to the Mamaroneck Firemenās Carnival, youāve probably already made peace with eating something powdered-sugary and fried. But whether youāre fueling up beforehand or you were too busy having fun to eat, weāve got a few nearby favorites to keep on your radar.
Yes, everyone knows Salās Pizza⦠and it still hits⦠but weāre currently obsessed with Dukeās Ramen. Located right in the heart of Mamaroneck, itās ridiculously satisfying, and they love to mix it up with their charity bowls, giving back in the tastiest fashion. Think soul-soothing broths, perfect noodles, and bold flavors.
And speaking of comfort food wins⦠Space Grill, one of our go-to takeout spots in New Rochelle, just opened a new location in Mamaroneck (yes, we may have squealed). If youāre a fan of juicy grilled meat over rice with fresh veg and spicy, tangy toppings, gyros and wings, you need to try it. We love the combo and lamb bowls, and their secret, signature Spacey Sauce is āout of this worldā⦠sorryā¦
Come for the carnival, stay for the food⦠or vice versa. Either way, youāre winning.
