Hello, Westchester!
Weāve travelled around a lot this summer and canāt wait to tell you about it in more detail. One thing weāve learned, though, is that weāre a family of treasure hunters. Some of our best times have been trawling a beach for a shell, digging through antique barns for a passed over relic, or driving backroads to find a little known brewery or coffee shop. It all comes down to unearthing something that might not be too obvious to those who arenāt looking closely enough.
Thereās a bit of that in a Westchester August. Families are away on vacationā¦ or theyāre here and just at a beach or club all day. And thatās great, and definitely needed, but in doing so, maybe expecting that things are quiet all month and missing an absolute gemā¦
Like Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard joining Jacob Burns Film Center for a retrospective series of his work, including Q&As and screening introductions. Fall season kicks off at the orchard with apple picking, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, and scenic hayrides through the farm. The stand stocks fresh produce, homemade treats, and the farm's signature hard cider. Runs through Nov. 1, and this is the opening weekend, so it is the first chance of the season to get out to North Salem.
