🌽 A Brazilian Carnival, a Bubble Bus Neon Party & Ben Stiller at Stew Leonard's

The Wiggles come to NYC, Hops on the Hudson Makers Market returns & a Katonah home listed $220K under Zestimate

Happy Friday, Westchester!

Three summer weekends remain between now and the start of the school year so let’s get out and make the most of them.

Everyone knows that the farms are the place to be once September and October roll around, when the pumpkin spice lattes are being sold a little too early and pickers are forcing flannel when the temperature is still capable of hitting the 80s. But Harvest Moon (Brazilian Carnival) and Outhouse Orchards (Bubble Bus Neon Party) are showing up this weekend with summer finales before the hay bales come out. Both deserve a look and you can find more detail on them below.

You’ll also be rewarded for venturing a bit further this weekend… Ben Stiller drops by Stew Leonard’s in Norwalk to meet shoppers and introduce his Stiller’s Soda, The Wiggles come to New York City with two afternoon shows for the kids and, no joke, a Wiggles After Dark gig, and Hops on the Hudson hosts its Makers Market in the treasure hunters’ paradise of Cold Spring on both Saturday and Sunday.

So whatever you do… do something! There’s no slowing down in August’s events calendar and summer won’t last forever! See you out there.

Sat., Aug. 22 | Outhouse Orchards, North Salem | Gates 4:30p, Bubbles 6p, Glow at sunset | $10 (2 and under free)

The Bubble Bus rolls back in for the last summer night of the season, filling the orchard with more bubbles than you have ever seen from 6p, then the whole farm turns into a glowing neon party at sunset. The neon is organic and washes right off, so let the kids go all in. Hayrides, barnyard fun, wood-fired pizza, and smash burgers round it out. We have been to the Bubble Bus events twice, and both were among our favorite farm nights of the past few summers.
Our kids still talk about the last one, so we are not missing this →

🥁 Brazilian Carnival at Harvest Moon
Sat., Aug. 22 | Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard, North Salem | 5p-9p | $18 (3 and under free)

Live Brazilian music from Pure Samba, colorful dance performances, and a drummer parade move through the orchard, with Brazilian-inspired food trucks, craft beer, hard cider, and specialty cocktails. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket, gather the family, and add the kids harvest train and farm soft serve.

🏡 Where the Heart Is

Incredible homes are listed in Westchester every week. Here’s one that caught our eye

The Key Details: 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3,371 square feet, 1.87 acres ($305 / square foot)

What We Love About It: The math here is hard to ignore… this one's listed roughly $220K below Zillow's own Zestimate, real value in a market where that almost never happens. It's set on just under two acres in the Town of Somers with a Katonah mailing address, with room to spread out both inside and out, a wood-burning fireplace in the family room, a second one in the renovated bonus room above the garage, and a three-season room for good measure. Add a 480 square foot pole barn for the hobbyists and collectors out there, plus a decade-plus of thoughtful updates (roof, siding, septic, water heater all recent), and it's a rare combination of space, privacy, and a price that undercuts the market.

We love to hear from you! Give us a shout at [email protected] or find us on Instagram @lovingwestchester. And don't forget to forward this to a friend who's always asking "what's going on this week?"

See you out there!
